look for desirable tracts of land while leading hunters through the western
country.. James Robertson of Wake County, North Carolina, came accross the
mountians and met a man named Honeycutt who gave him food.. He liked what
he saw, planted a crop, then returned home and brought his family and others
to settle.. He became prominent in the affairs of his new home, then led the
group which settled Nashville in Middle Tennessee.
